If any light does not come on, it may indicate a
burned-out bulb or an open circuit in the
electrical system. Have the system checked by
a NISSAN dealer.
Some indicators and warnings are also dis-
played on the vehicle information display. (See
ªVehicle information displayº (P.2-18) .)

orAnti-lock Braking System
(ABS) warning light
GUID-8A62F588-9043-44FD-BA02-00E8EAA88718When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) warning
light illuminates and then turns off. This indicates
the ABS is operational.
If the ABS warning light illuminates while the
engine is running, or while driving, it may
indicate the ABS is not functioning properly.
Have the system checked by a NISSAN dealer.
If an ABS malfunction occurs, the anti-lock
function is turned off. The brake system then
operates normally, but without anti-lock assis-
tance. (See ªBrake systemº (P.5-27).)
Automatic transmission check
warning light (if so equipped)

position, the light comes on for 2 seconds. If the
light comes on at any other time, it may indicate
the transmission is not functioning properly.
Have your NISSAN dealer check and repair
the transmission.

and the foot brake systems.
Parking brake indicator:

the light comes on when the parking brake is
applied.
Low brake fluid warning light:
GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the light warns of a low brake fluid level. If the
light comes on while the engine is running with
the parking brake not applied, stop the vehicle
and perform the following:
1. Check the brake fluid level. Add brake fluid
as necessary. (See ªBrake and clutch fluidº
(P.8-13) .)
2. If the brake fluid level is correct, have the warning system checked by a NISSAN
dealer.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) warning
indicator:

brake fluid level is sufficient, if both the brake
warning light and the Anti-lock Braking System
(ABS) warning light illuminate, it may indicate

1. Engine start operation indicator
(Automatic transmission models)
GUID-4B781A9C-51E6-4802-98C7-1E4BC12AA960This indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the P (Park) position.
This indicator means that the engine will start bypushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal
depressed.
2. Key insertion indicatorGUID-B2A51F88-F005-480D-9752-8C82EDDCB532This indicator appears when the key needs to be
inserted into the key port. (For example, the
Intelligent Key battery is discharged.)If this indicator appears, insert the key into the
key port in the correct direction. (See ªPush-
button ignition switchº (P.5-8).)
3. Intelligent Key removal indicatorGUID-B65BC5B8-22BE-4F85-ACFF-F0DDF25A14DBThis indicator appears when the driver's door is
opened with the ignition switch in the OFF or
LOCK position and the Intelligent Key placed in
the key port. A key reminder chime also sounds.
If this indicator appears, remove the Intelligent
Key from the key port and take it with you when
leaving the vehicle.
4. NO KEY warningGUID-622035A5-BEBF-4DF9-90B2-7F4F9674F17DThis warning appears in either of the following
conditions.
No Intelligent Key inside the vehicle:
GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407The warning appears when the door is closed
with the Intelligent Key left outside the vehicle
and the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position. Make sure that the Intelligent Key is
inside the vehicle.
Unregistered Intelligent Key:
GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407The warning appears when the ignition switch is
pushed from the LOCK position and the
Intelligent Key cannot be recognized by the
system. You cannot start the engine with an
unregistered key. Use the registered Intelligent
Key.

5. SHIFT ªPº warning (Automatic Trans-
mission models)
GUID-A37F13DB-865B-48E7-95FA-614B76C276FCThis warning appears when the ignition switch is
pushed to stop the engine with the shift lever in
any position except the P (Park) position.
If this warning appears, move the shift lever to
the P (Park) position or push the ignition switch
to the ON position.
An inside warning chime will also sound. (See
ªIntelligent Key systemº (P.3-6) .)
6. ªPUSHº warning (Automatic Trans-
mission models)
GUID-1FD56988-42EF-4D11-B0E1-D102E5EC01BBThis warning appears when the shift lever is
moved to the P (Park) position with the ignition
switch in the ACC position after the SHIFT ªPº
warning appears.
To push the ignition switch to the OFF position,
perform the following procedure:

ªPº) ?PUSH warning ?(Push the ignition
switch ?ignition switch position is turned to
ON) ?PUSH warning ?(Push the ignition

7. Intelligent Key battery discharge in-
dicator
GUID-8AA15A5A-7AD3-4C32-BBD5-55F6539381DCThis indicator appears when the Intelligent Key
battery is running out of power.
If this indicator appears, replace the battery with
a new one. (See ªIntelligent Key battery replace-
mentº (P.8-24) .)
8. Engine start operation indicator

pushing the ignition switch with the clutch pedal

Opening rear hatch/trunk lidGUID-DD1389EA-F161-4A66-96EF-1ABE815F1D4DTo open only the rear hatch/trunk lid, perform the
following procedure.
1. Carry the Intelligent Key.
2. Push the rear hatch/trunk lid opener switch
*C.
3. The rear hatch/trunk lid will open.
Lockout protection:

accidentally locked in the trunk, lockout protec-
tion is equipped with the Intelligent Key system.
When the trunk lid is closed with the Intelligent
Key inside the trunk, the outside buzzer will
sound and all doors and the trunk lid will unlock.
BATTERY SAVER SYSTEMGUID-CC26EF10-9B6E-4BF2-B213-956554CC0AD4When all the following conditions are met for a
period of time, the battery saver system will cut
off the power supply to prevent battery dis-
charge.
. The ignition switch is in the ACC position,

. All doors are closed, and

When a chime or beep sounds or the warning
displays, be sure to check the vehicle and
Intelligent Key.

following table do not solve the symptom, immediately contact a NISSAN dealer for the inspection.

The OPEN side of the soft top operating switch is
pushed while the soft top is fully open, or the
CLOSE side of the soft top operating switch is
pushed while the soft top is fully closed. Push the CLOSE side of the soft top operating
switch when the soft top is fully open. Push the
OPEN side of the soft top operating switch when the
soft top is fully closed.
Sounds twice The shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position. Shift the shift lever to the P (Park) or N (Neutral)
position (automatic transmission models only) , or shift
the shift lever to the N (Neutral) position (manual
transmission models only) , and then operate the soft
top.
Sounds twice The trunk lid is opened. Fully close the trunk lid.
Does not sound The battery voltage is low. Start the engine again and operate the soft top.
Does not sound The operation stops to protect the system. Wait for approximately 5 minutes.
The soft top stops halfway during opera-
tion. Sounds twice
Objects are trapped in the moving structure of the
soft top. Check that an object is not trapped inside the rear
parcel shelf, side flap and soft top. After the check,
place the ignition switch in the OFF position, start the
engine again and then operate the soft top.
Sounds twice The battery voltage is low. Start the engine again and operate the soft top.
When the vehicle is being driven, the beep
sounds. Sounds continu-
ously The soft top is partially opened. Immediately park the vehicle in a safe location and
fully open or fully close the soft top.
